Louisa May Alcott's inspiring story of the
March sisters - Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy -
growing up during the American Civil War.
On Sunday 2 October 2005, the THEATRE ROYAL DRURY LANE played host to the concert performance of the sparkling new British show LITTLE WOMEN - THE MUSICAL.
DAVE WILLETTS (award-winning star of The Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables) played Professor Bhaer, and Olivier-nominated DILLIE KEANE of Fascinating Aida played both Aunt March and Miss Crocker, with a shining quartet of young performers as the March sisters - Carrie Sutton (Jo), Collette Fraser (Meg), Zoe Rainey (Beth) and Pamela Hay (Amy).
For this once-in-a-lifetime event, celebrated broadcaster SANDI TOKSVIG - who championed Little Women in BBC TV's Big Read recently - introduces and narrated the story.
The cast was accompanied by a 20-piece on-stage orchestra and full chorus
conducted by Steven Edis, directed by Gillian Gregory, with scintillating songs and lyrics by Lionel Segal.
